Podiatrist Mohammed K. Bazzi, DPM, FACFAS, CWSP

Dr. Mohammed K. Bazzi, DPM, FACFAS, CWSP, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery and holds board certification by the American Board of Wound Management. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and American Academy of Minimally Invasive Foot & Ankle surgery. Dr. Bazzi attended Wayne State University for his undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree with honors from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, FL. After graduating in 2010, he completed his residency at Kern at Southeast Michigan Surgical Hospital in Warren, MI.

Dr. Bazzi specializes in limb salvage and diabetic wound care, with particular focus on minimally invasive procedures to prevent amputation. With over a decade of practice, Dr. Bazzi is recognized as a leading podiatrist in Michigan. Additionally, Dr. Bazzi is the senior podiatrist and lead surgeon at Bazzi Podiatry, PLLC, which is the largest podiatry group in the City of Detroit. He took on the legacy of nine podiatrists in the metro-Detroit area upon their retirement.

Dr. Bazzi is also dedicated to education as an on-call teaching attending surgeon at Detroit Medical Center and Beaumont Corewell Grosse Pointe, MI. He is also an affiliated surgeon with St. John Ascension residency program.

Dr. Bazzi was born and raised in Sour, Lebanon, a town located on the Mediterranean Sea. He moved to the United States at the age of 16 and has since called Michigan his home. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Bazzi has a passion for exploration and traveling, swimming and visiting world-renowned beaches some of his favorite pursuits.

 

Podiatrist Amer El-Khatib, DPM

Dr. El-Khatib attended medical school at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. After graduating in 2012, he completed his residency at Michigan Surgical Hospital in Warren, MI.

Podiatrist El-Khatib is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and has hospital affiliations with Southeast Michigan Surgical Hospital, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, and St. John Hospital & Medical Center. Dr. El-Khatib specializes in general podiatric medicine and foot and ankle orthopedic surgery. He has been in practice since 2015.

 

Podiatrist Maria T. Doan, DPM

Dr. Doan received her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 2015. She has a hospital affiliation with Southeast Michigan Surgical Hospital and specializes in general podiatric medicine. She has been in practice since 2018.

 

Podiatrist Ralph Zicherman, DPM

Dr. Ralph Zicherman received his undergraduate education at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and attended medical school at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (previously Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine). After graduation, he served as a surgical resident, residency director and the Chief of Podiatry at New Center Hospital.

Podiatrist Ralph Zicherman is board certified in podiatric medicine and surgery and is a medical staff member at Detroit Medical Center (DMC). He has conducted research in deep vein thrombosis, plantar keratosis, and nail avulsion complications. Dr. Zicherman is interested in limb salvage, diabetic care, complex nail procedures, podiatry medicine and general podiatric surgery.

 

Podiatrist Mahdi Chamas, DPM

Dr. Mahdi Chamas received his undergraduate education at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and attended medical school at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, OH. After graduating in 2014, he completed his podiatry residency at Michigan Surgical Hospital.

Podiatrist Chamas is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He is interested in diabetic education, wound care, sports medicine and biomechanics.

 

Podiatrist Dunia Ghazala, DPM

Dr. Dunia Ghazala is a fully-licensed podiatrist who performs foot and ankle surgery in the state of Michigan. Dr. Ghazala grew up in Troy, Michigan and attended the Troy Public school system. She went on to receive a full tuition scholarship and receive her undergraduate education at Wayne State University-Irving D Honors College, where she graduated with a Major in Biology and Honors. Dr. Ghazala then attended Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine where she graduated with her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine.

Following her medical education, Dr. Ghazala completed a three year reconstructive foot and ankle surgical and clinical residency at University Hospitals in the Cleveland area. During her extensive training, she focused on diabetic limb salvage, wound care, foot and ankle trauma, sports injuries, and other common foot and ankle pathologies.

She is truly committed and passionate about serving the community. In her free time, Dr. Ghazala enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, hiking, traveling, and following Detroit sports, specifically the Lions!

Podiatrist Jerad Booth, DPM

Dr. Jerad Booth, DPM is a graduate of both the California School of Podiatric Medicine and the Detroit Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program at Ascension Saint John Hospital. Dr. Booth has a vested interest in sports medicine and ankle/foot reconstruction but particularly enjoys meeting people and creating community connections in day-to-day office interactions.

Outside the office, he enjoys a multitude of physical activities including hockey, tennis, piano-playing, and working out. If there are any questions related to sports medicine and feet, please feel free to ask him as this too is an area of specific interest.

Zienab Dabaja, DPM

Podiatrist Zienab Dabaja, DPM

Dr. Zienab Dabaja joins us from Henry Ford Health where she completed her reconstructive foot and ankle surgical and clinical training. During her extensive training she focused on forefoot/rearfoot pathology, diabetic limb salvage, wound care and trauma. Prior to that, Dr. Dabaja served as the President of the International Podiatric Medical Student Association at the Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University, majoring in Biology.

In her spare time, Dr. Dabaja enjoys biking, walking trails, and nature. She is dedicated to helping the underprivileged and is passionate about serving her community. Dr. Dabaja is bilingual, speaking both English and Arabic.
